Skillet Bacon Jam
Yes….you read that right. Bacon Jam. Who knew?! I received a jar of this stuff and was asked to do a review. I have to admit that was I was curious. I had no idea what to expect. After checking out the company website, I found a ton of recipes to try the jam with.
I decided to go simple. Burgers. Nothing fancy, just plain, ole cheeseburgers on the grill with a little bacon jam spread on the bun.
Is it a Keeper?
I think so! I have to admit it was different from anything I’ve ever tried. Amazingly, all of the ingredients in the jam were straight forward: cured bacon, onion, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. That’s it. Nothing fancy. Everything easily pronounceable (is that a word?).
It has a deep smoky flavor that would be great on a variety of foods like grilled cheese or in a vinaigrette, or even with chicken.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

My hubby is addicted to bacon jam. I found a jar of this stuff at Whole Foods one day, and he has been hooked ever since.
I’ve only found it at WF and Sur la Table, but at a $9.99+ price tag, it wasn’t feasible for us. Until I found a recipe: http://iamafoodblog.com/bacon-jam-recipe/
The initial costs were a bit pricey, as I needed to buy bottles of the vinegar, etc. Price per recipe is very low. Enjoy!
