Girl Scout Samoa CookiesA few weeks ago, I featured this recipe a homemade version of my FAVORITE Girl Scout cookies….Samoas! They looked so good that I just had to make them!  I mean, what’s not to love?  Chocolate?  Coconut?  Caramel?  Shortbread?  And, put it all together and you’ve got one super, duper yummy cookie!  Every year, when the neighborhood girls camp out in front of the grocery store, I have to buy a box.  And then…I hide it!  I want them all to myself!  And, I know it sounds silly, but I ration them.  I want to extend the bliss as long as possible.

It’s just a shame that you can only get them for a short time.  So, when Kristy at Casual Dish shared a link to her version of Homemade Samoas on It’s a Keeper Thursday, I just had to whip up a batch!

Is It a Keeper?

If the caramel stuck to my fingers (and keyboard!) is any indication…I’d say these are a home run!  Holy cow, they are yummy!  The recipe makes a big batch — which is a VERY good thing!  So, I felt better about sharing them with my husband and son!  Of course, they loved them too!

Kristy does a great job on her blog, Casual Dish, showing you step-by-step how to make these delightful knock offs!  I highly recommend checking out her site.

Well, now that I’ve been writing about these cookies, I need to go indulge!  Enjoy!

Christina

    1. I will definitely be trying one of these recipes. I am a huge samoa fan. If you can teach me how you ration yours that would be helpful–I tend to down a box quickly. :)

It only because I try to hide them (from myself) in spot that hard to remember, like the medicine cabinet or my cabinet over my washing machine! :)
