I was looking for a fun project that Joey and I could make for his grandmothers and great-grandmother for Mother’s Day. I came across this recipe for Birdseed Biscuits in Family Fun Magazine. Since our families love our feathered friends, I thought this would be the perfect hand-made gift!
And, since we had to mix the “biscuits” and bake them, I thought I would share our experience on my blog!
Compliments on It’s a Keeper
3/4 cup birdseed
2 Tbsp flour
2 Tbsp water
3/4 cup water
Assorted metal cookie cutters
Preheat oven to 170 degrees. Evenly coat the inside of your cookie cutters with oil. In a medium bowl, mix together flour and water until combined. The mixture should be somewhat sticky. Add birdseed and mix until combined.
Bake at 170 degrees for 1 hour. Cool completely. Remove straw and place string through hole to create a hanger.
Is it a Keeper?
PS…we altered the recipe a bit…I added an extra tablespoon of flour because the mixture was not sticky enough.
Happy Mother’s Day!
